Mara came up through a street shop in Leith before joining Ninth Hour in 2019. Her work is mostly black: solid fills, ornamental bands and large pieces drawn to follow the shape of an arm, a back or a leg.

How she works

Big work starts with a consultation and a freehand session straight onto the skin. A sleeve section usually takes two to four sittings, a month apart, so everything heals before the next layer goes in.
